Introduction
HDD hole opener for horizontal drilling
Horizontal Hole Openers, also known as HDD Reamers, are used to
enlarge the pilot hole in Horizontal Directional Drilling(HDD) -
HDD is used when trenching and excavating is not practical.This
drilling technology allows for a steerable trenchless way to drill
underground.
The main structure features
Reamer with interchangeable tool was developed for large diameter
HDD projects where extending downhole life is critical. Larger
bearings and tools significantly extend downhole life compared to
smaller, conventional types of tools.
Replaceable milling sets are available in TCI and grinding teeth to
accommodate a variety of rock formations. All bits have 3-6 cutters
and can be drilled in 4 different sizes.
All tool bearings are metal sealed. Tool locks are used to prevent
cutting tools from falling off.
It can provide 400-2000mm hole opener.

There are three stages
1 .the first stage is to drill a small diameter pilot hole.
2. The second stage is enlarge the hole with a larger diameter
cutting tool called an HDD Reamer,
Rock Reamer or Hole Opener.
3. The third stage is inserting the casing pipe or other product
into the enlarged hole.

Cutting structure
The reaming bit is mainly composed of four or more cones. The main
cutting teeth are new wear-resistant alloys for tungsten carbide
inserts and steel teeth welding. The service life of the reaming
bit is improved by the high quality tungsten carbide teeth with new
formula and new technology. The guide is a roller bit or a drawing
bit.
Sealing and lubrication
Bearing seal with high performance O ring seal or metal seal
bearing, imported bit special lubrication oil.
